Farm Sitting

Farming and keeping livestock is a full time, year round job.  You don't get to take vacations and expect everything to take care of itself while you are away.  Some cat owners feel safe leaving their felines with extra food and water while they are gone for a few days, but you simply cannot do that with goats, chickens, horses, rabbits, cattle, etc.

This responsibility is one that we all accept when we decide to raise these animals, however sometimes things happen that require an absence.  And why shouldn't a homesteader be allowed to go on vacation for a few days?  The problem is, most of us won't trust just anybody to meet our own expectations in being responsible for their care.

That's where I come in. I have experience with both large and small livestock. Horses, goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, etc. I can toss square bales, feed grain, fill water buckets, and give you the peace of mind you need while you are away.

Service area includes White Pine, Jefferson City, Talbott, Dandridge, Morristown, and limited areas of New Market, Russellville and Newport.

Pricing starts at $20 per visit and is based on your specific needs.  Every visit will include:
--Mail collection, house check, adjusting blinds if necessary, and watering of house plants.
--Daily basic horse grooming such as brushing and hoof picking is available for an additional small fee.
--Additional services not mentioned may be available - just ask!

***NO travel fee for farms within a 10 mile radius of the White Pine, TN post office.***
Farms outside the 10 mile radius will require an additional travel fee, based on distance.

If you desire two or more visits per day, current availability is restricted to weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
If you desire only one visit per day, most weekdays and weekends are available. Visits are scheduled on a first come, first served basis, with preference given to those who desire multiple visits.

***More scheduling flexibility will be available later this summer and fall.***

Initial consultation will be by email (to provide you with an exact price). Once a price is agreed upon, I will schedule a time to come to your farm to meet you and tour your farm. During that face-to-face meeting, a contract and waiver will be signed and payment will be collected. Should you need to cancel your trip, a full refund will be given if you cancel 72 hours ahead of time. Cancellations less than 72 hours ahead of time will receive only a 50% refund.
